Suspect At Large After Long Island Man Shot In Chest

A suspect is on the loose after a 25-year-old man was shot in the chest on Long Island.

It happened on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 7 a.m. in Hempstead, Nassau County Police said.

According to police, officers responded to the vicinity of Terrace Avenue for the report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, officers located the male victim who had been shot in his chest. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The investigation is ongoing.
